A closed chained, proprioceptive exercise imperative to any stabilization program. Patient must be able to control and stabilize the scapula throughout the entire exercise.
Client Rationale
This exercise is a strengthening exercise that helps the rotator cuff and the shoulder blade stabilizers to communicate with one another, stabilizing the shoulder joint complex.
Instructions
- Have arms at shoulder level and feet and hands shoulder width apart.
- Perform a push-up on the wall, leading with your forehead.
- Keep shoulder blades down and together.
- Keep your hands on the wall throughout the exercise.
- Do not lead with your chin.
