Professional Rationale
Active Assisted ROM for an acutely painful shoulder, most often due to surgery, post traumatic dislocation, or conservative management of a massive rotator cuff tear.

Client Rationale
This exercise is to help you get your shoulder range of motion back without using the muscles that are painful, healing, or both.



Instructions
  • Stand in a doorway with your hand on the wall as shown.
  • Turn towards the opposite side.
  • If you are stretching the left shoulder, turn right.
  • Do not allow your elbow to come away from your trunk.
  • There should not be any sharp pain.
