Active Assisted ROM for an acutely painful shoulder, most often due to surgery, post traumatic dislocation, or conservative management of a massive rotator cuff tear.
Client Rationale
This exercise is to help you get your shoulder range of motion back without using the muscles that are painful, healing, or both.
Instructions
- Stand close to the wall.
- Climb slowly up the wall until you feel a gentle stretch in the shoulder.
- Turn your body to the opposite side.
- Do not move quickly.
- There should not be any sharp pain.
