This is a stretch for the small muscles at the base of your neck - the suboccipitals - as well as providing the upper neck with distraction, or unloading.
Instructions
- Start sitting with your clenched hand between your chin and chest.
- Put the other hand behind your head at the base of your skull and gently pull your head forward and down.
- Feel a gentle stretch at the base of your neck.
- Do not move at the base of your neck.
