A basic stretch for the suboccpitals and the ligamentum nuchae. This is best used along with a suboccipital release.
Client Rationale
Your suboccipitals are small muscles at the base of the skull that can get quite tight with poor posture. This helps to stretch out those muscles as well as a ligament that is at the base of the skull.
Instructions
- Keep head in neutral.
- Lift the back of your head up and forward and drop your chin in.
- Start by laying on your stomach with your upper body supported by your forearms.
- Do not allow the chin to poke out or your shoulder blades to squeeze together.
