Active Assisted ROM for an acutely painful shoulder, most often due to surgery, post traumatic dislocation, or conservative management of a massive rotator cuff tear.
Client Rationale
This exercise is to help you get your shoulder range of motion back without using the muscles that are painful, healing, or both.
Instructions
- Keep elbow straight.
- Slowly lift both arms up letting your unaffected arm lift your affected arm.
- Return slowly, keeping your affected arm relaxed.
- Do not lift your affected arm up on its own.
- Do not move quickly.
