Sidelying Quad Stretch
Professional Rationale
This is good basic quadriceps stretch. It can be a difficult position for the older population. Use a towel or sheet if needed to assist in the stretch.
Client Rationale
This is an exercise used the stretch your quadriceps, or the muscle that runs along the front of your thigh.
Instructions
- Grasp ankle, bending knee up, creating a stretch in your thigh.
- Keep you knee pointed straight down towards your feet.
- Do not lean backwards.
- Do not lean forward.
- Do not bounce into the stretch.
