This is a great exercise for any low back pain particularly with patients who present with chronic degenerative changes or significant muscles spasm. It is an exercise that can be done anytime during the day, especially if the patient experiences a lot of postural fatigue with more sedentary work.

Client Rationale
This is a basic exercise that helps to unload your spine. In this position, the pressure on the discs and the joints of the low back (lumbar spine) are minimal. This exercise helps to decrease the stress on these structures and also to helps to decrease muscle tension.



Instructions
  • Relax lower back.
  • Sit on a chair with your legs slightly apart.
  • Bend forward at the waist and round out your back as much as possible.
