Rhomboid Stretch
Professional Rationale
This is a basic rhomboid stretch. It can be used as a posterior capsule stretch as well, however it can be hard to isolate the capsule as the scapula can abduct, therefore compensating.
Client Rationale
This is a stretch for your rhomboid. The Rhomboids are a group of muscles that attach to your shoulder blade from your thoracic spine. These muscles often get overused and tight when the middle and lower trapezius are weak and inhibited.
Instructions
- Bend shoulder and elbow up to 90 degrees.
- With your opposite hand pull your elbow towards your chest, creating a stretch between the shoulder blades.
- Do not stretch to the point of pain.
