Professional Rationale
Active Assisted ROM for an acutely painful shoulder, most often due to surgery, post traumatic dislocation, or conservative management of a massive rotator cuff tear.

Client Rationale
This exercise is to help you get your shoulder range of motion back without using the muscles that are painful, healing, or both.



Instructions
  • Stand with you back to a chair/countertop/doorknob.
  • Place your hand on top of the object.
  • Create a stretch in your shoulder by bending at the knees.
  • Bear weight through your legs.
  • Do not bear weight through your shoulder.
  • There should not be any sharp pain.
