A basic isometric for the hip adductors. A great exercise for patients that can get into this position without difficult (compared to the supine hookly position) or any traumatic lower extremity injury or surgery.

Client Rationale
This is an isometric exercise for your hip adductors. An isometric contraction is when you activate a muscle without moving the joint it controls. Your hip adductors are a group of muscles that help to bring your leg toward midline and functionally they help to stabilize the legs and pelvis.



Instructions
  • Sit on the floor with you legs bent, feet on the floor and your forearm supported between your knees.
  • Squeeze your knees together resisting with your forearm.
  • Do not hold your breath.
