A basic active range of motion exercise to regain flexion in the knee. It also helps to clear edema, and to stimulate the quads and hamstrings at a low level.

Client Rationale
This exercise is to help you gain bending (flexion) range of motion in your knee. The goal of the exercise is to gradually increase the amount of bending. This exercise is very useful after you have had surgery on your knee.



Instructions
  • Place towel/belt around heel
  • Slide heel towards buttock until you feel a stretch in the knee, return slowly.
  • Try to increase the amount of bending with each repetition.
  • Do not cause any significant pain.
  • Do not bounce into the stretch.
