Heel Raises - two-legged
Professional Rationale
A basic heel raise exercise that is helpful in the early stages of rehab whether it is an acute injury where weightbearing is allowed or in the earlier stages of weightbearing postoperatively.
Client Rationale
This is a strengthening exercise for your gastrocnemius, soleus, and toe flexors. It also helps to train your balance (your proprioception).
Instructions
- Rise up on the balls of your feet.
- Slowly return.
- Hold on for balance only if needed.
- Do not allow toes to come off of the floor.
