Gripping

Professional Rationale
This is a good exercise to re-introduce gripping motions after pain has settled but functional strength hasn't returned. It is a great exercise during an elbow immobilization phase.

Client Rationale
This is an exercise that helps to introduce your hand/wrist/elbow to an easy gripping motion. Many overuse or repetitive strain injuries occur due to high frequency or high intensity gripping motions. This exercise is a gentle way to start gripping activities.

Instructions
  • Sit with forearm supported on a table or on your lap with a small towel roll in your hand.
  • Squeeze towel roll.
  • Slowly relax.
  • Don't oversqueeze.
