Active Assisted ROM for an acutely painful shoulder, most often due to surgery, post traumatic dislocation, or conservative management of a massive rotator cuff tear.
Client Rationale
This exercise is to help you get your shoulder range of motion back without using the muscles that are painful, healing, or both.
Instructions
- Stand in a doorway with your hand on the wall as shown.
- Lean forward slightly creating a stretch in your shoulder.
- Do not overstretch the shoulder.
- There should not be any sharp pain.
