Professional Rationale
Baseline strengthening exercise that can be used in the early stages of rehabiliation to help to clear edema and engage the muscles groups. It is alos very commonly used in the hosiptal setting right after surgery to ensure circulation during periods of inacitivity or bedrest (ankle pumps).

Client Rationale
This is an exercise to help you strengthen the muscles on the front of your shin (tibialis anterior and extensor digitorum longus). It also helps to gain Dorsiflexion range of motion in your ankle.



Instructions
  • Flex foot up towards you.
  • Return slowly.
  • Do not move your knee or your hip.
