Client Rationale
This is a cervical stabilization exercise that helps to strengthen the front muscles of the neck while the head is moving - ie. it strengthens the dynamic stabilizers.
Instructions
- Lie on your back with your head unsupported over the end of the bed.
- Turn your head halfway to one side, then slowly lower your head back towards the floor.
- Return to start position and repeat to the other side.
- Do not clench the teeth or tighten the jaw.
- Do not experience any dizziness or lightheadedness.
- Do not hold the dropped head position at all.
- Do not allow the chin to poke forward at all or the shoulders and upper back to move.
