Ankle Plantar Flexion Isometric

Professional Rationale
A basic isometric exercise for the muscles about the foot and ankle.

Client Rationale
This is an isometric exercise for your ankle plantar flexor muscles (the muscles that point your toe). An isometric exercise is when you contract the muscle, but you don't actually move the joint. This helps to wake up a muscle or to start to strengthen it gradually as it heals from surgery or from injury.

Instructions
  • Push ball of your foot into the wall or door jamb as if you are trying to point your toe.
  • Do not allow your foot to move.
  • Do not bend your knee.
