Ankle Eversion Isometric

Professional Rationale
A basic isometric exercise for the muscles about the foot and ankle.

Client Rationale
This is an isometric exercise for your ankle evertor muscles (the muscles that bring your foot outwards). An isometric exercise is when you contract the muscle, but you don't actually move the joint. This helps to wake up a muscle or to start to strengthen it gradually as it heals from surgery or from injury.

Instructions
  • Push side of foot into the wall or door jamb as if you are trying to move the foot outwards.
  • Do not allow your foot to move.
  • Do not roll your hip out.
  • Do not bend your knee.
