Ankle Dorsiflexion Isometric

Professional Rationale
A basic isometric exercise for the muscles about the foot and ankle.

Client Rationale
This is an isometric exercise for your ankle dorsiflexor muscles. An isometric exercise is when you contract the muscle, but you don't actually move the joint. This helps to wake up a muscle or to start to strengthen it gradually as it heals from surgery or from injury.

Instructions
  • Cross on foot over the other.
  • Attempt to flex your bottom foot up, against the resistance of your top foot.
  • Do not allow your foot to move.
  • Do not hold your breath.
